As part of our continued expansion, we are looking for experienced and qualified Online Tutors to support the delivery of our programmes. These roles are subject specific, and we are particularly interested in applicants with the following subject specialisms:
- Early Years
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Mark learner work and provide high-quality developmental feedback.
- Deliver live lessons to learners, where appropriate.
- Provide and record specific subject support to learners in all areas of expertise.
- Ensure that learner support records are accurately maintained.
- Ensure all contractual E&D and H&S policies are adhered to at all times in relation to learners.
- Ensure that the required processes are completed and in line with contractual deadlines to ensure that learndirect meets quality and accreditation requirements.
- Actively feedback issues connected to courses, collateral and systems to ensure continuous improvement of these.
- Assessing criteria against qualifications, where appropriate.
- Proactively contribute to standardisation activities.
- Learner satisfaction is above 75% good.
- Gaining and maintaining at least grade 2 OTLA.
- Gaining and maintaining exam pass rates of at least 70%, where appropriate.
- Any other reasonable request in the interest of the business.
What we are looking for in you (Essential):
• Detailed knowledge of all qualification standards and syllabi in relevant subjects
• Proven ability to motivate and progress learners through a variety of techniques, especially in an online context.
• FE Teaching qualification at least Level 3 [Level 4/5 for some subject areas] (or working towards).
• CAVA or similar legacy assessor qualification (where appropriate).
• Relevant occupational competency (where appropriate).
• A subject specialist qualification.
• Own English and maths at least level 2.
• Operates consistently within company procedures.

Key Performance Indicators:
• Learner queries are responded to within two working days.
• Learner marking is completed within seven working days.
• There is zero overdue marking.
• Marking volume per contracted day is as per your individual contract.
• Learner records are maintained in the relevant system.
• Marking accuracy is consistently above 90%.
• OTLA grade 2 or higher is achieved and maintained.
• Learner satisfaction is above 75% good.
• Gaining and maintaining exam pass rates of at least 70%*.
*Measured only where advice was given to the learner to proceed to the test
Tutors must hold a first degree in their relevant subject specialism as a minimum and a full recognised teaching qualification. Successful candidates should have experience of tutoring at higher education level as the programmes are to support students to progress to a final year degree course at their chosen university. Experience of tutoring adult learners would be an advantage.
These roles offer flexible working hours, depending on caseload and associate availability.
We operate a completely flexible remote working model. Working on a self-employed Contract for Services basis. Rates of pay vary depending on the course and level.
You will be responsible for organising and managing your own workload whilst maintaining the highest level of standards. Each of our subject areas is faculty driven and as an Associate member of the team you will have direct contact with a Head of Faculty to support you with caseload management, learner queries and assessment processes.
