As another academic year begins to dawn, students across the UK collected their 2022 A-level and GCSE results in the final two weeks of August. Students have begun deliberating over their futures, while the media and official bodies have been analysing the results and statistics for the UK.
As reported by the BBC, top grades have dropped this year compared to 2021, with grades of 7/A and above at 26.3%, fewer than last year’s proportion of 28.9%. Rather than see this as a source of disappointment, it can be used as an opportunity to prepare for next year’s exams, in a way that may be more beneficial to learners.
learndirect Group Chief Executive Officer Wayne Janse van Rensburg is already looking to 2023, and he has a message for those considering their options.
He said: “The fall in top grades for A-Levels and GCSEs this year can be motivation for learners to prepare for their exams next year, but in a way that is more suited to their lifestyle.
“We here at learndirect offer fully supported A-Level and GCSE programmes with structured online classrooms that learners can complete from the comfort of their own home. Then, they can sit their exam at one of our national centres.
“The level of flexibility and support we offer will get learners perfectly prepared for 2023!”
