Job Purpose:

To ensure the smooth running of the company's finances by managing gains and expenditures. Group Head of Finance responsibilities include keeping detailed records and identifying solutions to problems in financial processes, coaching, directing, and structuring financial team members and projects for best efficiency, ensuring all accounting activities comply with regulations.

To be successful in this role, you should have experience crafting financial strategies and managing accounting teams to maintain our company’s health and increase profitability.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Manage all day to day financial aspects of the company
  • Collaborate with other department heads on all financial matters
  • Manage cash control and treasury
  • Manage short term cash forecasting
  • Manage Group accounting. Including monthly close process, board reporting and annual statutory accounts, and annual audits
  • Manage VAT and other statutory taxes
  • Liaison with external stakeholders as required, e.g. bank, audit & private equity stakeholders
  • Manage the financial team including coaching and developing employees
  • Partner and lead closely with Head of FP&A
  • Ensure impeccable and detailed financial records; oversee that taxes and record filing are done correctly and to government standard
  • Responsible for payroll, pensions, company insurances etc.
  • Be prepared to make presentations of financial information to colleagues, operational and senior management, and possibly board members.
  • Liaise with the CFO on all matters

The above is not an exhaustive list of duties. It is expected the role will grow in scope as the business moves into increased use of regulated products.

What we are looking for in you:

  • Qualified senior professional with minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior finance position - essential
  • Business Partner experience with commercial/operational reporting to senior management - essential
  • Chartered Accounting Qualification (such as ACCA, ACA, CIPFA, CIMA) - essential
  • Experience with leading a team, with Group consolidation
  • Experience with using Sage.
  • Experience working alongside private equity.
  • Experience with Workday.
  • Expert in complexed Excel modelling - essential
  • Highly intelligent, driven and articulate individual with ability to communicate clearly to senior leadership team as well as at all levels to other stakeholders
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Good relationship building skills
