TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Falls Prevention Awareness (RQF) is designed for anyone who could potentially work with those at risk of falling. This particularly applies to those working in a health and social care setting.

The course is made up of 4 mandatory online units in which 14 credits must be achieved for completion.

During your studies you’ll learn how to ensure preventative measures are met through understanding the cause of falls.

You’ll use your knowledge to educate those who are at risk on the best practises and tips to keep them safe. Through your learning you’ll gain an understand the consequences of falling and the legislation relating to them.

To become provide even more care for vulnerable people you can continue with your education in other areas of health and social care. Those wishing to progress can complete courses in:

  • Understanding mental health
  • End of life care
  • Caring at home

There are no specific entry requirements, however, learners should have a minimum of Level 1 in Literacy and Numeracy or equivalent.

Minimum age restriction

Learners must be age 16+ to enrol.

You have 24 months to complete your course.

Placement or Practical required

Achievement of the qualification includes demonstration of practical skills and confirmation of workplace competence (usually learning outcomes beginning with ‘Be able to’). Portfolio evidence must include observation of learner performance in real work situations

Needs access to a workplace place enviornment to demonstrat practical skills

Certification Timeframe

Learners typically receive their certification within 12 weeks, though this can be longer if an EQA sample is required.

Course Fees

All course fees, inclusive of all payment plans including our Premium Credit Limited option, must be settled before certification can be ordered.

The qualification is assessed by internally set and marked assessments subject to external quality assurance.

All learning outcomes which assess knowledge and understanding (usually beginning with ‘Understand’) may be assessed through, for example, internally set and marked written assignments, tasks, records of oral or written questions, work books or other portfolio evidence.

Achievement of the qualification includes demonstration of practical skills and confirmation of workplace competence (usually learning outcomes beginning with ‘Be able to’). Portfolio evidence must include observation of learner performance in real work situations Details of specific requirements and where simulation is /is not permitted is included in the unit specifications.

Materials for internal assessment must be submitted to TQUK for approval prior to use and must be mapped to the relevant unit, learning outcome and assessment criteria.

All learning outcomes and assessment criteria must be met to achieve a pass - there is no grading.

Successful learners can progress to other qualifications such as:

  • TQUK Level 3 Certificate in the Principles of End of Life Care
  • TQUK Level 3 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care

  • TQUK Level 2 Diploma in Care
