Journal Therapy
Journal Therapy
About the Journal Therapy Certificate
Journal therapy is a type of writing therapy, different to keeping a journal or a diary. It is a form of expressive self-therapy focusing on reflective writing to achieve a creative and emotional release.
This home study course includes modules on devices and techniques, journaling, creativity, going from personal problems to personal joy, as well as the Jungian concept of exploring dreams and fantasies.
Who should study this course?
This distance learning course is suitable to therapists who want to explore a different range of techniques, to improve the quality of therapy for their clients. Many clients enter therapy with a strong sense of apprehension, which makes it difficult for them to fully benefit of the treatment to its full extent. For many this form of self-introspection is an easier way to open up.
As with any of our courses, you do not need to have any prior experience or qualifications to enrol straight away on this learning journey. All you need is a way to access the online study materials and the motivation to complete this course.
What happens after the course?
At the end of this course you will gain key skills in journal techniques, and a powerful tool in helping clients get the best out of their therapy session. You can complement your studies further with other therapy courses, studying new techniques.
Therapy provides a great field of practice for anyone with a genuine interest in helping people. Some of the career paths you could be following are:
- Psychotherapist
- Child counsellor
- Armed forces therapist
