About the Dementia Awareness Certificate

Have you ever wondered what it is like for someone to have dementia? Have you or has someone you know been personally affected by the illness? Do you want to work with dementia patients? This home learning qualification is split between seven engaging modules. Each unit covers an important aspect of dementia which learners need to be aware of. Students will study online in their own time discovering everything from ethical and legal guidelines to effective communication. This home learning course will also investigate the different types of dementia.

This home study course is aimed at individuals who want to work with dementia patients. If you already have a career, this course may help you develop your skills. Studying dementia courses online can also be useful for people who have friends or relatives who are affected by the disease.

As with all of our courses here at learndirect, you needn’t gain any prior experience or qualifications before you apply. All we ask is that you are passionate about fighting dementia, and that you are able to access the internet to use our online platform.

On successful completion of this home study course you will have a fundamental understanding of dementia and the effects it has on people and their families. This knowledge will help you to care for people you know with dementia, or help you to develop your career in the care sector.

Entry Requirements

There is no experience or previous qualifications required for enrolment on this course. It is available to all students, of all academic backgrounds.

All course fees, inclusive of all payment plans including our Premium Credit Limited option, must be settled before certification can be ordered.

*You will have access to the course for 24 months.

On successful completion of your course you will receive the learndirect Certificate of Completion of Training in Dementia Awareness.

Your course certificate will also state the number of CPD points/hours the course is eligible for.
