This child care course builds an understanding of the essential knowledge and skills needed to care for children. It covers children's growth, learning and development, and also includes units to build self-development.
This course is suitable for anyone wishing to, or already working in child care, as well as anyone wanting to develop parenting and life skills.
This course is listed on the QCF (QRN: 501/1015/9) and will award you 37 credits upon successful completion.
What Could I Do After Completing This Course in Caring for Children?
The child care sector offers a wide variety of flexible job opportunities. If you wish to build your career in caring for children, you could continue your child care training courses to become a child minder, nursery nurse, play worker and more. CFC 20: Healthy eating for families
CFC 1: Confidence building for the young child through play
CFC 2: Listening to and talking with a young child
Entry Requirements
There are no entry requirements, however English and Maths Level 2 would be advantageous.

Assessment requirements
Assessments will be carried out using written questions.

Certification Timeframe
You can expect to receive your certification within 12 weeks of successfully completing the qualification. Please note this can be longer if a EQA sample is required
