Frequently Asked Questions

This advanced aquatic treadmill therapy course is perfect for qualified animal care professionals who want to take their skills to the next level. You'll gain in-depth knowledge of canine gait analysis, allowing you to identify posture problems and tailor advanced treadmill techniques to significantly improve an animal's mobility and wellbeing. Plus, you'll get hands-on experience using state-of-the-art equipment alongside experts, all while earning a recognised qualification and expanding the services you can offer.
A gait analysis is essentially a detailed examination of an animal's walking pattern. It's crucial because by understanding how a dog moves, animal therapists can create targeted aquatic treadmill exercises to improve their gait, posture, and overall wellbeing.
Evaluating canine posture and adaptations in aquatic treadmill therapy is essential. Proper posture allows for efficient movement and minimises strain. Aquatic environments can mask underlying issues, so animal hydrotherapists need to identify posture adaptations to tailor water level, speed, and exercises to effectively address the dog's specific needs and prevent further injury.
Advanced aquatic treadmill techniques go beyond basic walking exercises. They allow animal hydrotherapists to target specific animal gait abnormalities by adjusting water depth, speed, and incorporating props like buoyancy aids. This controlled environment promotes increased range of motion, muscle strengthening, and improved balance, leading to better mobility and a faster recovery for dogs and other small animals.
This advanced aquatic treadmill therapy course will propel your animal hydrotherapy career. By learning to conduct gait analysis and understand canine biomechanics, you'll be able to identify posture problems and tailor advanced treadmill techniques to each animal's specific needs. This not only improves your effectiveness in treating a wider range of conditions, but also allows you to provide a more targeted and beneficial therapy experience for your furry patients.
