You will learn how to critically analyse sources and historic accounts and put forward structured arguments.

During your course you will study:

  • The Industrialisation of Britain between 1783 and 1885.
  • Democracy and Nazism in Germany between the first and second World Wars (1918-1945).
  • You will also carry out a historical investigation about a 100 year period of your choice.

As you explore each of these units, you will develop a keen eye for detail, identifying critical moments in the course of history.

You will be challenged to test the robustness of your sources through problem-solving. As well as debate your viewpoint in a structured and balanced way.

This A-Level course bundle includes all the course material you need and the exams to gain your qualification. The first exam focuses on the study of significant historical developments for around 100 years and associated interpretations.

Exam two challenges you to study a period of major historical change or development and associated primary evidence.;

Finally, you will also have to submit a historical investigation examining 100 years.

Upon completion of the course you will have the demonstratable knowledge required to take your study of history to degree level and beyond.
