Sharren Redmond, who devoted more than 20 years to the police, turned her life around by building an award-winning pet care business after an unexpected redundancy in 2018.

Previously working in the niche area of cybersecurity and digital forensic software, she took what would otherwise be an overwhelming fish out of water situation and turned it into an opportunity to do something she has always wanted.

Turning her fondness of animals into a prosperous opportunity, Sharren set about starting Petpals Sefton the very same year.

Fast forward to now and Sharren has a profitable animal care business, with a fleet of vans and a Great British Franchisee Awards (GBFA) award.

She has taken a dynamic approach to her business and has tailored her offering to meet evolving client needs. Now, Petpals services include dog walking, pet taxis and many others to meet the growing need in the local area.

As quoted in Champion Newspapers, Sharren stated: “Despite the impact of the pandemic, I’ve built a successful and profitable business in less than five years. I now have a fleet of vans outside of my house, and it’s amazing to have built something so significant.”
