- Methods of performance analysis, feedback, goal setting
Unit 13: Coaches and athlete preparation – training and monitoring
- Factors that can influence performance, ‘needs analysis', the principles of training
Unit 14: Ethics and good practice
- The study of ethics, why ethical practice is necessary for coaching
Entry Requirements
There is no experience or previous qualifications required to enrol in this course! We are open to everyone!
All course fees, inclusive of all payment plans including our Premium Credit Limited option, must be settled before certification can be ordered.
*You will have access to the course for 24 months.
You will be assessed through a series of short written answers to test your knowledge after each unit of this course. Your answers will be marked by a tutor and feedback will be provided if your answers are incorrect or missing some key knowledge.
These assessments are not to pass or fail you, but to ensure you are absorbing the knowledge from the course’

To be an effective sports coach you need a myriad of tools in your coaching toolbox, far beyond just having a strong technical knowledge base in your chosen sport. In this course, you will learn topics such as coaching philosophy, the coaching process, theories of learning, anatomy and physiology, psychology for sports coaching, special population coaching, nutrition, sports performance analysis methods, coaching ethics and much more. This sports coaching course can serve as a springboard for you to undertake additional learning in any of the topics covered throughout the course and set you on your pathway to becoming a successful sports coach.
Following this course, you may wish to undertake sports-specific coaching courses such as the FA Level 1 or 2 (if you wish to coach football for example) or even develop yourself further in other areas covered in this course such as fitness training or nutrition. You could enhance your understanding of physical activity with our L2 Gym instructing or L3 Personal Training qualifications, and your nutritional expertise could be upgraded with our L4 Advanced Sports Nutrition course. You may even decide to work towards a sports coaching university degree course.
There is a great deal of choice and opportunities regarding working in the sports coaching industry and you can use this course as an important stepping stone towards achieving the sports coaching career that you want.
