• Understand duty of care, duty of candour and individual rights
• Understand the support available for addressing dilemmas that may arise about duty of care

• Know how to respond to incidents, errors and near misses
• Be able to deal with confrontation and difficult situations

Unit 4: Equality, diversity, inclusion and human rights in adult social care

Upon successful completion of the unit, you will:

• Know how to access information, advice and support about equality, diversity, inclusion, and human rights

Unit 5: Work in a person-centred way

Unit 9: Awareness of mental health conditions and dementia

Upon successful completion of the unit, you will:

• Understand the needs and experiences of people living with mental health conditions or dementia
• Understand the importance of early identification of mental health conditions and dementia
• Understand aspects of personalised care which support an individual living with a mental health condition or dementia
• Understand the reasonable adjustments which may be necessary in health and care delivery for an individual living with a mental health condition or dementia
• Understand how legal frameworks and guidelines support individuals living with a mental health condition or dementia

Unit 10: Safeguarding adults

Upon successful completion of the unit, you will:

• Be able to apply the principles of adult safeguarding
• Understand ways to reduce the likelihood of abuse
• Know how to respond to suspected or disclosed abuse
• Understand how to protect individuals from harm and abuse (locally and nationally)
• Understand restrictive practices

Unit 12: Health, safety and principles of basic life support

Entry Requirements

This qualification is designed for learners aged 19 and above working in adult social care in England.

Minimum Age Restriction

19

Average Completion Timeframe

You have 24 months to complete this course, however, the flexibility of online learning makes it possible for many learners to finish the programme much sooner.

Certification Timeframe

Learners typically receive their certification within 12 weeks, though this can be longer if an EQA sample is required.

Course Fees

All course fees, inclusive of all payment plans including our Premium Credit Limited option, must be settled before certification can be ordered.

*You will have access to the course for 24 months.

You will need to complete an internally assessed and externally quality-assured portfolio of evidence. Skills-based learning outcomes (LOs) and assessment criteria (AC) must be assessed via direct observation in the workplace as the main source of evidence and be carried out over an appropriate period of time. A minimum of one direct observation of practice is required.

Placement Required

Learners must spend a minimum of 40 hours working, volunteering or on practical placement to be able to show competence in both knowledge and skills.

Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive the NCFE CACHE Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate (Qualification Number: 610/4131/2).
